Thank you to all my lovely friends and wonderful family.

thank you. thank you. thank you.

OMG. I just had one of the best holiday weekends EVER.
Thanksgiving was pretty fun w/ the fams. It was really mellow and I made the best mashed potatoes ever. It included a lot of football wathing and uno playing (or cheating.. either way). It was a nice day and I enjoyed every second of it.
Friday- aka Black friday was an ok day too. Got a little shopping done with some besties and saw Ninja Assassins (dont worry Darlene, I will leave it at that)
then the real fun began...
I got my hair did on Saturday... I went a little more blonde and idk why but I love having blonde hair. Its fun!
So the best gal friends anybody could ask for thru me a Day of the Dead birthday party! It was sooo much fun. It was complete with skully cookies, delicious cupcakes, yummy fajitas, 7-layer bean dip, mexi soda, cookies/candy, an awesome altar, skully decor everywhere, and cute pictures. omg, some of the best decor I have ever seen. Everybody looked so good too, of course because we all have good style, but it was super sweet. I can't even believe I am so lucky to have had so many awesome bday parties. I really do have the best friends ever. It's not because they throw great parties (well thats some of it) but mostly because at those parties we can sit and talk for hours on end and still not want to leave. We can start talking and then begin again as if no time has passed even if its been a few days.
I love it.
Sunday was a nice break after the fabulous time we had on saturday. Except my body did hate me, I'm getting a litte too old to go to bed at 4 am. Haha. It was well worth it though.
Monday- today! Was my actual bday. I didnt work out and I gave myself a nice little bday present of sleeping in! The simple things in life.
Work was super busy... unfortunately, but it made the time go by pretty fast. I got many Happy Birthday wishes from co-workers and friends. It was great. I dont know if I can ever say enough Thank You's.
We also had a lovely dinner at Macaroni Grille. My fams and friends were there. So fun. We ended the night with a little bit of goofing off at Borders and getting little cactus pups- tute!

Thank you everyone. I love you so much and I am so grateful to have you in my life.
oh and Thank You for the most B.A. gifts ever!!! I <3 them.

reading

I love new books and magazines that are different and original ideas.
I found this really cool book at B&N and I had to have it as soon as I saw it, haha. Its Called Hi-Fructose. Apparently it's a magazine and this is the best of the articles/ artists. It has some really cool stuff in it and it reminds me a lot of Pop Surrealism and that type of art stuff.
It has the usual ones (Mark Ryden, Ray Caesar) and some pretty cool ones I havent heard of before. Its pretty neat.
Photobucket
I also go the new Lula magazine which I have been waiting for for such a long time. It only comes out like once every 4 months but it is so worth it -not to mention its from the UK so it takes even longer :( It is seriously the coolest magazine I have ever seen. I want the first editions that came out but they are quite pricey on ebay... maybe I can find some good deals online.
It has the cutest articles and interviews in it and its not all super serious.
One of my favorite in this one is a little dedication to one of the old silent film movie stars- you can't get any cuter than that.
Photobucket

To add to my collection I really need to get these books.
I have really liked this artist since I saw the little fairies on the Prada bags from a year or two ago. He has some interesting takes on anatomy and lots of different portrayals of people and human activities. (some of it is a little um, unusual but its all really good I think haha)

I like this art because it explains a lot of ideas that I have. Haha. Sometimes they just don't make sense. My ideas can be like dreams with so many elements and so many random people, objects, and themes that the only to understand is just to look at the bigger picture and plus not everything has to make sense, sometimes thing can just be what they are.

i aint gonna lie.

I liked New Moon. I admit it was really cheese-tastic and the acting is not Oscar worthy but compared to the first one it is a million times better. It doesnt really compare to the book (This book was my fave) but if you look at them as two separate entities then I think it all works out. Oh and I noticed something kind of weird... besides the few times they mention the word vampire, the movie really doesnt have anything to do with vampires. No blood drinking, no more blood than like a little drop, and no mention of getting blood- kinda weird.
I really liked the werewolves though, I thought they did a good job w/ the special effects. I cant really say there are any other movies where I really liked the werewolves so thats pretty cool I guess. Im totes gonna buy it when it comes out.
I cant wait for Eclipse now, haha.

bunny ears

I think these can be really cute. Im all for stuff that is whimsical and fun.... aaand they kind of remind me of bows, mishapened bows.
I dont know if it would be proper attire to wear say for a business meeting but I think they would be really fun to wear going out and having fun.
I think its important not to take life too seriously so I would happily rock a pair of these just for fun, in and outside of my house.

for you boys who drive me crazy.

Tim Burton

This would probably be one of the best art exhibits ever to see.

I dont know if there is anything of Tim Burtons that I dont like. I think some stuff I like a lot more than others but I think he has amazing creativity and has such a unique style of making different types of art.

Apparently his art exhibit is Nov22- April 26 at MOMA in new york. I wanna go.

classy glassy

I like these glasses.
I have wanted some new glasses for-ev-er. Im gonna need to try them on but I think they have some cuteness potential.

Photobucket

and if they dont work I can always get this necklace. Haha.

Photobucket

P.S. Etsy you are killing me.

New Moon.

Well the time is almost here. I am excited and not excited at the very same moment. The second book was my favorite out of all of them... just because its sooo romantic, haha. But the first movie was well not Oscar winning. I think this one will be better than the first but I dont know if I should necessarily have high hopes for it.
Photobucket

I made a recent decision that I think I like Nikki Reed the best out of this cast. I think she is really pretty and has a super cute style. I didnt really see her as Rosalie but I get it now. Plus she isnt a hot mess like K-Stew always is. I like Ashley Greene too but Im not sure about her style.

As far as the boys go...I like Kellan Lutz too because he seems like just such a cute guy and a good cuddler (for some reason) and not all super sensitive sally like Rob P. Dont get me wrong Rob P. can take a good picture (sometimes) but he seems like such a downer. Dont even get me started on Jackson R. Oh and the wolf pack is pretty fine too, minus the cheesy tat tat tat'd up.

its true...

Well working out I've come to accept the fact that I'm losing some of my treasure chest but I am at least gaining some pirate booty.

Bikini summer 2010. I will be ready.

snow.

Photobucket
I dont necessarily like the cold but I do like snow. Its just so nice and those darned snowflakes are so adorably one of a kind, you just have to love them.
I like things that go with snow too like scarves, boots, gloves, hot chocolate, lights. Its a pretty time of year.

p.s. can you tell I'm kind of bored at work? haha.

Glee.

My last post was about tv and this post is going to be too. What can I say...
I decided I want to start watching this show because it looks delightful and hilarious.
Glee

I wish I would have started from the beginning though because apparently in the last episode they sang Defying Gravity from Wicked!! Im gonna have to buy the seasons.

finale.

Well this season or I mean cycle of ANTM went by pretty fast. I didnt even know the first episode was on and when me and Kimi realized it we both went running into the living room to see if we had missed anything. It seems like this cycle was shorter than the others though (get it, shorties) but for real, it went by very quickly.
These are the two finalists for the cycle. If the finale is next week we should totes watch it and make some food like the good ol times.
Photobucket
Nicole. Her nickname was bloody eyeball when she was little- so she says. I thought she was kinda weird in the beginning but she actually takes really good pictures and she is cute and kinda goofy. I'm glad shes in the finale.
Photobucket
Laura. One of my favorites from the beginning. She has the cutest little southern accent and her grandma pretty much makes all of her clothes.

The only thing I dont get about this season is that they are almost making fun of the girls. For example when they are in judging and the never wear heels and they are always looking kind of scroungey. Plus their house (even though its super cute) is full of mini stuff. Idk, maybe its just me. I thought this has been a pretty good season so far though, there were some pretty cool photo shoots- cirque de solei and the under water ones but it still doesnt beat my favorite two though- the cycles with Danielle and Jacqueline.

cute song!!

I could listen to this song over and over again in any different language or any different style. I love it even though it tugs at my heart each time.
Plus its a classic, songs arent this precious any more. haha.

I wonder if these really work. I am always up for things thing make a body look good, except for drinking milk- yeah thats just mostly for cereal.
These are kinda pricey but if they arent a bunch of false advertisement they might actually be worth it.

Friday!

I think Im going to take this friday off, just for fun.

Oh Wikipedia, thank you for your most useful information on any subject matter that my mind wanders to.

The fear of Friday the 13th is called paraskevidekatriaphobia. Yeah I dont even know how to say that, haha.

The actual origin of the superstition, though, appears also to be a tale in Norse mythology. Friday is named for Frigga, the free-spirited goddess of love and fertility. When Norse and Germanic tribes converted to Christianity, Frigga was banished in shame to a mountaintop and labeled a witch. It was believed that every Friday, the spiteful goddess convened a meeting with eleven other witches, plus the devil - a gathering of thirteen - and plotted ill turns of fate for the coming week. For many centuries in Scandinavia, Friday was known as "Witches' Sabbath."

The Knights Templar were a monastic military order founded in Jerusalem in 1118 C.E., whose mission was to protect Christian pilgrims during the Crusades. Over the next two centuries, the Knights Templar became extraordinarily powerful and wealthy. Threatened by that power and eager to acquire their wealth, King Philip secretly ordered the mass arrest of all the Knights Templar in France on Friday, October 13, 1307 - Friday the 13th

decor.

Well sometimes I get in these moods where I love decorating stuff. I think I have a good style when it comes to decor however I dont know if I would be able to ever decorate/design for other peoples homes. I took this class in high school and my teacher loved me (not trying to brag but she did, haha) and she said I could have a career in it. The thing is I know what I like and what I think looks good but if people came to me and were like I want these colors, I would probably be like um that doesnt work. And plus Im not a big fan of neutral colors, well I am if they are used w/ other colors. Haha. Anyways these are my recent discoveries.

...

i have to.

I saw this ridiculously awesome bag on UO website the other day and I have pretty much been obsessed with it ever since I saw it. Not even kidding- I have been planning outfits to wear with it. Anyways I googled heart bag and to my astonishment I found two more jewels and now I cant decide which one to get.
I love all three but I am only getting one for sure. So which one???

I am leaning more between the UO one and the Topshop one but I just dont know...
Especially if I had a cute black sparkley dress and cute heels in red maybe and some tights with the seams in the back... oh man...

Who's up for dragon hunting?

This is what I did on Friday during work... thank you Bekky Far Far:

Bekky: I wish magic was really out there. My life would be so much cooler if I could get ahold of magic!
Vic: Hahahah! Cooler and nerdier!! But I really do wish there was magic
Bekky: we can always just pretend.... then we'll never get married.
Vic: Would we be able to make people fall in love with us though?? Oh, oh ! we can use magic to make the best weddings ever! Plus they wouldn’t even cost anything cuz magic doesn’t cost right?
Bekky: nope it sure doesn't! Oh man lets get on it Vic.... my grandma always said that every myth or legend started from an actual fact... so that means that at one point there HAD to be magic right!?!?! right!?!?!?! my grandma was also in the mental ward...... probably should have mentioned that.
Vic: I totes believe it, plus people that are in the mental ward really know what they are talking about. They aren’t jaded by everyday life’s lies.
Plus there really was dragons right??
Bekky: well I did see a national geographic special where they found toads deep in the jungle that use certain gasses and seep them out of pores that make them hover over the ground, and those gasses ended up being flammable. So they are trying to prove that if small frogs can do it then prehistoric giant animals HAD to have been able to do it. It was a really long show and I don't remember all the details but I left with the impression that they were certainly alive at one time. And plus in all the old historical (like persian and asian and babylonian) records and old temples they found drawings and stories and in the Bible they talked about the fire breathing animal too... so I think there really could have been.
Vic: I believe they exist, I mean they have to right? Hello, they aren’t that far off of what a dinosaur would be plus there is all sorts of accounts of them from different types of people in different centuries and I don’t think they would have been able to steal each others stories ya know? Didn’t the Asians talk about them too? Its too much of a coincidence for all these people to know about them. Oh and I could have sworn I saw something about that thing too! There are lots of different kinds of lizards and toads with those similarities.
Bekky: yeah there are a ton! And the thing about back in those days is that all those different civilizations didn't have telephones, emails, newspapers and they were way too far apart to travel and tell stories (I mean an Asian isn't going to go to South America or the Congo) and they all have those stories. Actually there is this new big thing where I guess some of the more isolated/less developed tribes in S. America have stories of seeing things similar to Dinosaurs, and then they ran across the same thing in Africa. Like different remote tribes in these areas that are miles and miles apart can draw the same animals that they are seeing and scientists think that they are some kind of dinosaurs!
Vic: It has to be true. I think we have done the job of our friends over at mythbusters. Because there is no way that its not true, I mean come on the evidence is overwhelming.
Bekky: I wish we could actually be on an expedition that tries to prove something like this, woudln't that be awesome?!
Vic: Lets do it for real?
Bekky: done and done. how do we get funds? Victoria maybe it's time you put your wit and charm to good use and start flirting with a millionaire so we can get money to go on this expedition.
Vic: Hhmmm ok! I’ll see what I can find, I mean who I can find. It cant be that hard to find some old man w/ lots of money willing to support two young females on a world expedition to discover dinosaurs.
Bekky: Well you just have to get all dolled up and start hanging out at some classy wine joints. You always have to be by yourself and hang out in the vicinity of the older men. Then when a younger guy comes and hits on you, you just have to say loudly that no thanks and you are waiting for someone more mature and wiser to come talk to you. THen as the younger guy walks away you tie a cherry stem in your mouth toward the direction of the old guy and he is wrapped around your finger.... I have no experience in this.
Vic: Hahaha! oh right, of course you don’t. I need to get on that cherry stem thing, I never learned how to do that and I always end up drooling on myself.
But I definitely think it’s a good idea. I can get them all drunk and then take advantage of them, in the least I can get some cash and then maybe we should start a fund for dragon exploration. This is brilliant!

Success.

I thought this weekend (and end to Halloween) was a pretty, pretty good one.
Friday night was fun because we had a nice B & B meeting and spent a little too much time at Cafe Rio. Haha, I dont think it would be normal if we went out to dinner and spent less than 2 hours there.
We got a new book to read. It sounds like its going to be a interesting read so far. I will feel really bad if it isnt though because the last was not a good start to the club.

Saturday I went to breakfast w/ my mom and sis. It was delicious and nice to just hang out with them.
A little later I met up w/ Kimi, D, and Richard. We got some good food at Taco Bell of course, haha, and spent a few hours playing Super Smash Bros on the wii.
Photobucket
On my way home from that rendezvous I decided I need some boots, haha. Luckily for me I saw Darlene at Gateway and we did a little shopping- Haha great minds do think alike. Photobucket
Anywho... on my way home I had a few problems with my car :( Thankfully my stepdad was able to fix it now but we will see. I really hope it lasts through the winter!

So then I met up w/ Al and Ryan J. and Clif and we went to her friends Halloween party Photobucket... but I agree w/ Al- the real fun was at Ryan J.'s after (thanks for inviting me!)... when we watched Silent Hill and omg that movie is creepy. I have to admit I was kinda scared driving home and my room was really cold when I got there. Not cool. Haha.

Overall this Halloween weekend/season was a success. I wish I would have been able to do more and had more opportunities to dress up but oh well... there is always the rest of the year to dress up right? I cant wait for next year though!

This song is good and creepy...

Im still deciding if I like some of their other songs.

I heard it on the English Muse blog and then looked it up and apparently it was on Gossip Girl- weird.
